It was introduced with Windows95 in 1995.WordPad was a rich text editor adn it received last update for Windows 8.
Mails and Calender

You will not see Mails and Calender as saperate as Microsoft has drop those and clubbed those with New Outlook app.
Windows Tips

The Windows Tips app has been dropped and it is replaced by "Get Help" apps in latest update.
Windows Speech Recognition

Microsoft has announced that the "Speech Recognition" app will be replace with "Voice Access" feature.
Cortana

The Cortana digital vaoice similar to Apple Siri was added as by default app in taskbar. Microsoft has remobed it and offered as standalone app.
Windows Maps

Microsoft has annonced that "Windows Maps" will no longer be available in latest update.
Both protocols are no longer considered as secure and they will be disabled by defualt in future updates.
Steps Recorder

The Step recorder was useful to record each step and convert it to document. But the application has been deprecated and will no longer available in future updates.
